Pimpri: The annual Palakhi procession is held every year. Even today, 56 Dindis were present. Last year, there was chaos and some women were injured. Therefore, this year, the Chief District Judge, Revenue Officer, and Temple Chief held three meetings to ensure that the situation does not repeat itself. They decided to allow only 75 people to enter each dindi and made arrangements accordingly. The dindi leaders also agreed to this. Passes were distributed accordingly.
However, some local youths suddenly tried to enter the dindis. They were stopped by the temple authorities and the police. There was only a minor commotion, and the police did not use lathi charge or force. Therefore, it is wrong to say that a lathi charge was done. All the pilgrims and the administration are cooperating well. Therefore, I request everyone not to try to disrupt the age-old tradition of Maharashtra's Palakhi procession. said Vinayakumar Choubey, The Police Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad.
