Pimpri 10: The police have succeeded in arresting four robbers belonging to a gang of robbers who were trying to break the wall of the Federal Bank branch located at Dange Chowk
These armed robbers tried to attack the police, But the police resisted them and managed to arrest four people. While the rest of the robbers escaped, a police constable was injured while chasing them. All this happened on July 9 around half past midnight.
Due to the conscious citizens and the promptness of the police, the robbers have been foiled. After the robbers started breaking the wall of the bank at night, the residents of the neighborhood became aware of it. They immediately informed the police. After that, within 5 minutes, the police on patrol from Thergaon and Wakad rushed there. On inspection, they found that the wall of the bank branch was broken. While inspecting, 8 robbers hiding in the dark came upon the police with weapons. The police resisted them and arrested the four while the rest managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness. While chasing these robbers, police constable Sonwane fell down and got injured.
Materials such as gas cutters, gas cylinders, screwdrivers, iron tools, and wall breakers used for breaking the bank have been seized from the arrested robbers.
Two teams have been formed to trace the escaped robbers and have started the investigation.
