Pune: In a meeting organized to discuss the construction of the memorial being built in Rajgurunagar, which commemorates the contribution of Hutatma Shivram Hari Rajguru in the fight for independence, Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar stated that the proposed memorial should be an energy center for the citizens of the country. He emphasized that there should be no shortage of funds for this memorial.
During the meeting held in Rajgurunagar, various officials were present, including MLA Dilip Mohite-Patil, Regional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Director of Archaeology Department Tejas Garge, and Chief Engineer of Pune Heritage Trust Sunanda Jagtap.
Mr. Mungantiwar stated that Hutatma Rajguru had immense patriotism, and he had endured great hardships for the country. We take pride in having such a great personality born in our land. It is necessary to construct a memorial that will evoke the feeling of the history of the fight for independence from every brick, stone, and pillar. The construction of the memorial should be done with proper planning, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and adherence to scientific principles. A digital library should be created here, with QR codes provided according to the subjects.
The citizens who visit the memorial should feel the spirit of patriotism. They should be aware that this is the village of a martyr. For this, patriotic slogans should be displayed on the walls of local public buildings, a resolution map should be prepared by J.J. School of Art, the beautification of the city's roads should be done, experts in this field should be involved, and the opinions of the citizens should be taken into consideration. A platform should be created to incorporate the ideas and imagination of the citizens. The administration, social organizations, and the citizens should work together to develop the birthplace of Hutatma Rajguru. said Mr. Mungantiwar."
