Pune : In order to quickly provide health facilities in case of outbreaks and emergencies during the monsoon season, Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant has instructed the Health Department to prepare health services from the district level to the village level.
The meeting, organized through video conferencing, was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Milind Mhaiskar, Health Service Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar, and Director Dr. Nitin Ambadkar.
Dr. Sawant said that affected villages should be identified and immediate response teams should be reach there. Training should be provided to the staff and prompt action plans should be made in case of emergencies. District-level reports should be prepared daily and closely monitored. The quality of drinking water should be tested and ensured.
A list of contact numbers of district-level officials should be prepared and updated in each district and sent to the state level. Kits for the control of communicable diseases should be prepared and their reports should be maintained. Health officers at the district level should also be informed about the instructions and guidelines.
Attention should also be given to the places of origin of diseases and water sources should be kept clean with the participation of the public. Quick action should be taken through awareness campaigns and a booklet should be prepared for other information and guidance to the staff. Adequate availability of medicines should be ensured. Boards should be used to provide information about diseases in gram panchayats and nagar panchayats,he directed.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Mhaiskar has provided extensive information about communicable diseases to the public. In difficult situations, the Health Department should fulfill its responsibilities and ensure organized management of health conditions during the monsoon season, as mentioned by him.
Officials from the Health Department, including the Deputy Director of Health, civil Surgeon, and District Health Officer, attended the meeting through video conferencing.
