Pune: An IT engineer from Pune was arrested for threatening Sharad Pawar.
The suspect, Sagar Barve, is an IT engineer. He had threatened Mr. Pawar through his Twitter and Facebook accounts. He had created a page called "Narmada Bai Patwardhan" and had posted a message to Sharad Pawar, saying "You will soon become a victim". Another person named Saurabh Pimpalkar had also posted a derogatory message about Sharad Pawar on his Twitter account.
After this incident, the Rashtrawadi Congress party became aggressive. Supriya Sule, a Congress leader, met with Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and demanded that action be taken against the suspect. The central and state governments were also urged to take the threat seriously and take immediate action. The suspect was arrested on the L.T. Road in Thane, Mumbai, and the investigation is ongoing.
