Pune: Convent Schools impart education based on certain conditions, but most of the students studying in these schools are Hindus. Therefore, Hindu culture must be infused into the education imparted in Convent Schools, since most of the students are Hindus. Moreover, the groups of parents of such Hindu students should take the school administration to task in case there was discrimination. Children studying in Convent Schools are going away from Hindu culture. Parents should now leave the misconception of only convent-educated students being successful in life. It should be noted that only students with good cultural values would be successful. Select schools that impart modern education and inculcate good ‘Sanskar’ in children, appealed Ms Gauri Dwivedi, the Principal of ‘Rudra Prayag Vidya Mandir’, Prayag Raj, Uttar Pradesh. She participated in the online special debate held by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on the topic ‘Convent Schools are against ‘Bindi’ or against Hindu Dharma?’
Convent Schools’ ‘Minority’ status should be withdrawn!
Mr Nagesh Joshi, the Coordinator of HJS from Pune stated that a teacher in Jharkhand slapped a student because she applied ‘Bindi’ on her forehead. This insult led Usha Kumari, the affected student, in committing suicide. It is not the first case of persecution of Hindu students in Convent Schools across the country. Hindu students should have been imparted education related to Hindu Dharma after India’s Independence, but it didn’t happen. Many Convent Schools impart education related to Christianity. Hindu Dharma is criticized. Convent Schools try to convert Hindu students and have become the conversion centers for Hindus. In most of the Convent Schools, more than 50% of students are Hindus; therefore, the Government should withdraw the 'Minority' status of Convent Schools.
Dr Puja the joint President of ‘Kasturba Shree Vidya Niketan’, Dhori, Jharkhand said that students studying in Convent Schools follow the Western culture. It has been observed that students studying in Convent Schools are falling prey to depression, whereas children studying and following Hindu Dharma have inner strength, and they don’t face the problem of depression. The English language is taught well even in many schools other than Convent Schools. We are trying to do so in our ‘Vidya Bharati’ Schools all over the country.
