Mumbai: A railway policeman shot dead his senior and three passengers in a Jaipur-Mumbai passenger train around 5 am today. This happened near Palghar. He then escaped by jumping from a moving train, but the police arrested him and preliminary information suggests that he did so because he was mentally disturbed due to his transfer from Gujarat to Mumbai.
The name of this railway policeman is Chetankumar Chaudhary. He and his senior A. S. i. Tikaram was on duty in this train. His duty started from Surat. After this there was an argument between Chetan and Tikaram when the train was coming between Palghar and Virar. Due to this argument, Chetan fired at Tikaram. ASI Tikaram died on the spot after firing. After this, the passengers started questioning the accused. Because of this, the accused also fired at three passengers. They also died on the spot. After this incident, he was roaming in the train to create panic among the passengers.
The police have arrested him and will be produced before the court in the afternoon.
