Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation celebrated the birth anniversary of the late former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vasant Rao Naik. As a tribute, the Commissioner and Administrator of the Municipal Corporation, Shekhar Singh, presented a floral tribute at their Photograph in the main administrative building in Pimpri.
On this occasion, Additional Commissioner Ulhas Jagtap, Special Officer Kiran Gayakwad, Public Relations Officer Prafull Puranik, Deputy Engineer Chandrakant Kumbhar, Sitaram Rathod, Wasim Kureshi, Balaji Rathod, Ravi Rathod, Raghunath Chavan, and Ankush Lohakare were present.
Vasant Rao Naik was a renowned agricultural expert, progressive farmer, and politician. He is considered the father of the Green Revolution. He implemented far-reaching schemes for farmers. Vasant Rao Naik served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the longest period. The Maharashtra government declared his birth anniversary on July 1 as Agriculture Day to commemorate his agricultural work, and this day is celebrated everywhere. Agriculture Day is considered a sacred festival for the agrarian nation. On this day, farmers are honored and respected everywhere.
