Pimpri: The Pimpri police have arrested a gang of motorcycle thieves. As many as 14 stolen vehicles were recovered from them, with an estimated value of 6 lakh 60 thousand rupees, according to the police.
The names of the accused who were arrested are Dadasaheb alias Dadaya Prakash Patekar, 19 years old, from R.M. Adgaon, Post-Niri, Taluka-Pathardi, District-Ahmednagar; Yosef Samuel Khandagle, 22 years old, from Ganesh Nagar Colony No. 5, Shubham Apartments, Sudama Ji Temple, Bopkhel, Pune; Akash Prakash Patekar, 23 years old, from R.M. Adgaon, Post-Niri, Taluka-Pathardi, District-Ahmednagar; Aditya Anil Deshmukh, 23 years old, from Churampuri, Taluka-Ambad, District-Jalna; Suneel alias Gotya Suresh Valekar, 25 years old, from R.M. Pimpalgaon, Post-Daulawadgaon, Taluka-Asti, District-Beed.
A case has been registered against them at the Pimpri police station under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code.
On June 27, the Pimpri police were conducting an investigation on the road from KSB Chowk to Pimpri Morwadi Court around 3:20 PM. They noticed three individuals riding two motorcycles without number plates. Despite signaling them to stop, they did not comply. The police chased them and apprehended them. When the police asked for the registration papers of the motorcycles, they failed to produce them. As a result, they were taken to the police station for further investigation. At that time, Dadaya Patekar confessed that with the help of his friend Yosef Khandaglethey had stolen the motorcycles. Aditya Deshmukh and Suneel Valekar admitted to buying the stolen motorcycles. Consequently, the police arrested them and seized 14 stolen motorcycles from them.
