Mumbai: A political earthquake shook Maharashtra today. NCP leader Ajit Pawar, along with 40 cooperative MLAs, joined hands with BJP and Shiv Sena to take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Prominent NCP leaders Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse Patil, and Prful Patel have also shown their support for Ajit Pawar. These three leaders have expressed their trust in Sharad Pawar as well.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Ajit Pawar clarified his role in a press conference. He explained how the future of the NCP alliance will unfold.
* "We have participated in the government as the NCP alliance. If We can go with Shiv Sena, Why not with BJP," said Ajit Pawar, who is respected by many MLAs and leaders. He also mentioned that the political party and symbol belong to him.
* "Majority rule is of utmost importance. This has been the tradition until now. We need new leadership for the future, and this is my aim. We have a majority of MLAs in our party, said Ajit Pawar.
* "In the Nagaland elections, seven MLAs were elected from our party. All seven decided to go with BJP. We made this decision for the development of Maharashtra. We will ensure justice for all components. We will work hard to strengthen our party and make it powerful.
* "In the state and national elections, we will fight together. In the district elections, local leaders will make decisions at the district level," said Ajit Pawar.
* Ajit Pawar claimed on NCP and challenged Sharad Pawar. He made it clear that the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be fought under the banner of the NCP and the clock symbol. He also sought everyone's blessings.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also shown support for this alliance. He said, "The government, which was already a double engine under Narendra Modi's leadership, has now become a triple engine."
