Pimpri: Under the guidance of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, an 'Elevated Corridor' is being planned to construct the Pune-Nashik highway. The eight-lane highway will be built with the consideration of the increasing traffic in the next 50 years. The project will not affect the metro and other roads. This information was given by BJP city president and MLA Mahesh Landge.
The Indian National Highway Authority presented the future plans for the Bhosari, Kasarwadi, and Moshi areas of the Pune-Nashik highway to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Present at the meeting were special guest Shrirang Barne, MLA Ashwini Jagtap, MLA Uma Khapre, Shankar Jagtap, and officials from various departments, including the commissioner and administrator Shekhar Singh.
The eight-lane highway will stretch from Nashik Phata to Moshi. The four to six-lane service roads on both sides will be improved, and an eight-lane elevated flyover will be built on a single pillar at Tyre-1. The elevated corridor will stretch from Nashik Phata to Khed, covering a distance of 29.81 km. It will include an eight-lane highway, a metro line (double-decker), service roads, and ramps.
Currently, there are over 96,000 vehicles passing through Moshi and over 67,000 vehicles passing through Khed every day. The project aims to accommodate the increasing traffic in the future. After the project is completed, over 6.7 lakh vehicles can easily pass through Moshi every day, and over 3.97 lakh vehicles can pass through Khed every day."This claim has been made by officials of the Indian National Highways Authority.
For local commuters, there will be a "road ramp" facility... After the completion of the Pune-Nashik elevated corridor, the route for vehicles coming from Pune to Nashik without any hassle will be clear. For local commuters traveling from Nashik Phata to Moshi, there will be some places where they can take a "road ramp down" to reach their destination. This facility will also be available for those traveling from Moshi to Nashik Phata. Additionally, there will be a route from Pune airport to Chakan.
We had made a resolution for the development of the Pune-Nashik highway under 'Vision-2020'. Due to COVID, lockdown, and changes in the state government, the project was put on hold. However, now there is a BJP-Shiv Sena government in the state, so we have confidence that this project will be completed within the designated time frame. In today's presentation, officials were informed to plan for the next 50 years and complete the bidding process as soon as possible.- Mahesh Landge, Mayor and MLA, BJP, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
