Pune : due to palkhi procession Of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj's there is a change in transportation. District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh has urged people to use alternative routes while the transportation is being changed. Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palkhi travels from Pune-Saswad-Lonand to Pandharpur, while Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palkhi travels from Pune-Solapur via Roti Ghatmarge-Baraamati-Indapur-Akluj to Pandharpur. To ensure the smooth running of the festival and the safety of the pilgrims, all types of vehicles will be banned on the palkhi routes from June 14 to June 18 for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palkhi and from June 15 to June 24 for Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palkhi. The District Collector has also issued transportation regulations for this period.
Route of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palkhi
From Pune to Saswad (Saswad Mukkam) - from 2 am on June 14 to 12 am on June 16, the transportation on the Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat routes will be completely closed from Pune to Saswad. This transportation will start from the Khadimachine Chowk-Katraj-Kapurholamarg. All transportation coming from Saswad will go to Pune via Garade-Khed-Shivapur road.
From Saswad to Jejuri (Jejuri Mukkam) and Jejuri to Walhe (Walhe Mukkam) - from 2 am on June 16 to 12 am on June 17, all vehicles going from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Walhe-Nira and from Nira to Pune will use the Jhendevadi-Paragav Memane-Supe-Moragav-Nira route.
From Walhe to Lonand (Lonand Mukkam) - from 2 am to 5 pm on June 18, all vehicles going from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Walhe-Nira and from Nira to Pune will use the Saswad-Jejuri-Moragav alternative route.
From Lonand to Phaltan - from June 16 to June 18, transportation will go from Phaltan-Lonand to Pune, as well as from Pune to Phaltan-Lonand via the Shirval road.
Route of the Palkhi of Saint Tukaram Maharaj:
From Lonikand (Pune) to Yavat (Yavat Mukkam) - On 15th June, vehicles will travel from Pune to Solapur via Wagholi, Kesnand, Rahuri, Paragav and Choufula until midnight. Similarly, vehicles coming from Solapur to Pune will use the route of Choufula, Paragav, Rahuri, Kesnand and Wagholi.
From Yavat to Varvand (Varvand Mukkam) - On 16th June, vehicles will travel from Pune to Solapur via Theur Phata, Kesnand, Rahuri, Paragav, Nhavare, Kasti and Kurkumbh. Similarly, vehicles coming from Solapur to Pune will use the route of Kurkumbh, Daund, Kasti, Nhavare, Paragav, Rahuri, Kesnand and Wagholi.
From Varvand to Undavadi, Ta. Baramati (Mukkam Undavadi) - On 17th June, vehicles will travel from Pune to Solapur via Choufula, Paragav, Nhavare, Kasti, Daund and Kurkumbh. Similarly, vehicles coming from Solapur to Pune will use the route of Kurkumbh, Daund, Kasti, Nhavare, Paragav, Choufula and Wagholi.
From Undavadi to Baramati (Baramati Mukkam) - On 18th June, the road from Baramati to Pats and Daund will be closed for vehicles. This transportation will go to Baramati via Bhigwan Road. And while coming from Baramati, it will go to Solapur-Pune highway via Bhigwan, Kalsi, Paragav, Choufula and Wagholi.
From Baramati to Sansar (Sansar Mukkam) - On 19th June, the road from Junction to Baramati will be closed for transportation. Vehicles coming from Walchandnagar and Indapur will go to Baramati-Asti via Kalsi and Indapur. While coming from Baramati, it will go to Bhigwan Junction.
From Sansar to Anthurne (Anthurne Mukkam) and from Anthurne to Nimagaon Ketaki (Nimagaon Ketaki Mukkam) - From 20th June to 21st June and from 21st June to 22nd June, all types of vehicles coming from Baramati to Indapur will travel via Baramati-Kalamb-Bawda-Indapur or Baramati-Bhigwan-Indapur. Similarly, vehicles coming from Indapur to Baramati will travel via Indapur-Bawda-Kalamb-Baramati or Indapur-Bhigwan-Baramati.
