Pimpri : Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj (Chinchwad) and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palakhis will depart for Pandharpur for the Ashadi Wari. Both pilgrimage sites, Alandi and Dehu, are under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have made elaborate arrangements for the safe passage of the Palakhi procession.
A total of 4,528 officers and officials, as well as three units of the SRPF and four units of the NDRF, have been deployed for security. The police have also implemented various measures for the safety of the devotees.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palakhi will depart from Dehu on June 10. The first halt of the Palakhi will be at the Inamdar Wada in Dehu. On June 11, Tukoba's Palakhi will depart from Dehu and head to Akurdi. The halt of Tukoba's Palakhi will be at the Vithal Temple in Akurdi. On the same day, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palakhi will depart from Alandi. The first halt of his Palakhi will be at Gandhiwada in Alandi. Both Palakhis will then proceed to Pune City on June 12.
Three modern surveillance vehicles will monitor the Palakhi procession. There are 345 CCTV cameras installed along the Palakhi route, and four drone cameras will also be used for surveillance. Four bomb detection and disposal teams will be present. The police have also created two separate paths for women devotees to prevent harassment. Additionally, 12 checkpoints have been set up to prevent thefts. The police have also set up 39 information centers. Four police assistance centers will be available for women's safety.
Passes have been arranged for the vehicles of the devotees. There are eight video cameras, four CCTV cameras, and drone surveillance checkpoints. A help desk has also been set up to assist citizens in case of any difficulties. There are 20 watchtowers along the Palakhi route. Other traffic arrangements have also been made. Seven checkpoints have been set up in Alandi, and 30 diversions have been made in Dehu.
