"Third meeting of the G-20 Digital Economy Taskforce
Pune: The exhibition organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, was inaugurated by the presence of Central Electronics and Information Technology Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar and foreign representatives at the Hotel JW Marriott, the venue of the G-20 Digital Economy Taskforce meeting.
At this event, the Secretary of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, and District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh were present.
State Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and the attending representatives were briefed on various initiatives, including the Aadhaar system, digital locker, UMANG app, educational Diksha app, a language app, e-Sanjeevani national telemedicine system, e-NAM project for cooperative agriculture markets, soil health card, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), and the Digit platform.
The representatives were enthusiastic about the information provided by these projects, including the Digital India Journey simulator, which showcases the use of information technology in India.
Information on Aadhaar was also provided, and everyone was informed about the success of the program, which has become one of the world's largest and most successful initiatives. The Aadhaar system has enabled the opening of most bank accounts in India, and information on the use of Aadhaar numbers, e-KYC, direct benefit transfer, and integration with various e-services was also shared."
Progress in Pune's digital sector showcased
The Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune Smart City, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation have showcased their projects and digital integration through digital screens and images of modern technology. Information about projects that are being implemented in Pune city, which will be brought to the city from the halls of Pune Municipal Corporation and Smart City, has been displayed. The modern Skada management system, enterprise GIS system, Pune Municipal Corporation's website, and various digital initiatives for citizen participation, as well as the integration of chatbots for various uses, have been implemented. Information about the Mula-Mutha River improvement project is also provided through images.
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has provided information about projects such as e-classrooms for 123 schools in the city, GIS-based property mapping projects, CCTV surveillance systems in the city, smart waste management projects, smart water management, and digital board projects for providing information to citizens. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation has also integrated facilities for industries.
