Pimpri: The Crime Branch, Unit 1 of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has succeeded in arresting a gang of criminals who pretended to be police officers. Four people have been arrested in this case and valuables worth Rs. 5 lakh 33 thousand have been seized from them.
Mangesh Yuvraj Kadam, Age 21 Years, Res. Sec. No. 4, Landgevasti, in the room of Anil Phuge, Bhosari, Pune, Aniket alias Anil Kailas Kadam, aged 23 years, res. Zapkechal, Omsai Kirana Stores Jawal, Landgevasti, Bhosari, Pune, Sameer Mohammad Rafiq Inamdar, Aged 22 Years, Res. Shinde Niwas, Anjalinagar, Galli No. 3, Katraj, Pune, Abhijeet Dhanaji Khade, 21 years old, opposite Res. Ganesh Mandir, Bhagatvasti, Bhosari, Pune are arrested.
On 29 June 2023, officers of Crime Branch, Unit 1, Balu Kokate, Somnath Borhade, Mahadev Javale, Ajit Roopan, while conducting a parallel investigation into the case of burglary and theft registered at Chikhli Police Station, received information that four persons were staying at Jadhavwadi with stolen goods. The police went there and detained the four.
At that time, police found a rickshaw, 144 gear jobs of Mahindra company in the rickshaw, two motorcycles, mobile and an Aadhaar card, driving license, ATM card worth 05 lakh 33 thousand rupees. When the police thoroughly investigated the matter, the accused confessed that he had robbed a person in the Kudalwadi area by claiming to be a policeman.
