Baramati: A complaint has been filed against eight people, including two police personnel, a jeweler, and his son, for robbing a woman of 80 tolas of gold and raping her. The Baramati police have registered a case against them.
The police have registered a case against Shivaji Rajaram Nikam, Bharat Oswal, Kavita Shivaji Nikam, Jeet Oswal, Shrikant Rajaram Nikam, Sameer Sheikh, and two unknown persons.
According to the information provided by the police, the woman was sold 80 tolas of gold to Bharat Oswal. However, he only gave her 20 lakhs in cash. When she demanded the rest of the money, he invite her to Shakit Plaza, khatik galli, Baramati, and Shivaji Nikam and Bharat Oswal raped her.
The accused also incited communal violence by making derogatory remarks about the woman's community. Kavita Nikam, Jeet Oswal, Shrikant Nikam, and Sameer Sheikh were also present during the incident and participated in the communal violence.
Shivaji Nikam is currently working at the Valchandnagar police station, while Shrikant Nikam is currently working at the Akluj police station.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter, and Ganesh Ingle, the sub-divisional police officer, is leading the investigation.
