Pune: Department of Information Technology and Department of Computer Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering (BV(DU)COE), Pune in association with Meter Under “Meter Collegiate Partnership Program” has organized a two days workshop on “Introduction To Blockchain , Decentralized Finance And Practical Hands-on Session On Live Blockchain Network”.
The workshop was inaugurated in presence of chief guest and speaker SurajSinh Gaikwad, Operation Manager, Meter, Dr. Vidula Sohoni, Principal BV(DU)COE, Pune, Dr. S. H. Patil, Dr. Rohini Jadhav(Faculty Co-ordinator).
Dr. Rohini Jadhav, Associate Professor, BV(DU) COE and coordinator of this workshop, briefly introduced the objectives and outline of the sessions. and proposed the vote of thanks. Over 250 students participated in the workshop and METER provided 10 USD to each participant for working on blockchain network.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Gaikwad said that blockchain is yet to achieve mainstream adoption and its potential in embodying core values such as in fields of decentralized finance, overseas money transfers, governance is undeniable. The Blockchain ecosystem needs the talent of young builders, innovators and their ingenuity to catalyze mainstream traction. He informed that the 'Meter Collegiate Partnership Program' is started with an objective to impart Blockchain knowledge to the student community, with a view to acquire talent and empower a tech-savvy user base to fuel growth and adoption of blockchain networks as a public goods platform. Our alliance with Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune marked a significant stride towards this objective!
Dr. Vidula Sohoni, Principal BV(DU)COE, welcomed the guests and participants. She mentioned the various awards and rankings of the institute. She said that intentions of such event is to impart knowledge on Blockchain Technology and to give proper direction to acquire latest knowledge and aid hands on practice as well to latest trends. Dr. Sohoni further added that Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed with a Meter under which further training and awareness activities shall be conducted regularyly.
