Mumbai: In Andheri east, chakala area There was a landslide on four to five flats in Rambag Society yesterday night. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the incident as the residents ran out in time.
According to more information received about the incident, a mountain debris suddenly collapsed during the night on some flats in Rambagh Society in Chakala area of Andheri East. This incident took place around two o'clock in the midnight.
A resident who lives in the same society said, “The incident took place around two o'clock in the night. There was a very loud bang. Seven of us were sleeping in the house. We got scared after hearing a loud noise. What happened suddenly? We had this question. Because it has never been experienced. There are six houses in our line. All six houses have been damaged. Four houses were heavily damaged. A similar incident happened in 2007 as well. We told this to the builder and asked for preventive measures. Then he has done it as a formality, but it was not fixed.” he claimed.
According to the police commissionerate, the society is located near Guru Nanak School on Mahakali Road. There is a seven-storied building, there was a sudden landslide of mud and stones from the hill during the night. There are 168 rooms in this society and the entire building has been vacated.
Meanwhile, two vehicles of Mumbai Municipal Fire Brigade and Mumbai Police rushed to the spot as soon as they got the information about the incident.
