Pimpri: Bharat Gaikwad, who was working as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in Amravati Police Force, committed suicide by shooting his wife and nephew and killing them at around 4 am today on July 24. This incident happened in Baner area of Pune.
Moni Gaikwad (age 44) and Deepak Gaikwad (age 35) have been identified as the two murdered persons.
Bharat Gaikwad was working in Amravati. But his family lived in Pune. Gaikwad shot his wife and killed her in the early hours of the morning. As soon as the gunshot was heard, his nephew and son Suhas Gaikwad went to his room. At that time, he shot dead his nephew and asked the boy to leave. After that, he committed suicide by shooting himself.
His son has filed a complaint in Chatushringi police station regarding this incident. The reason for the murder is likely to come forward in the police investigation.
