Pune: A ST bus on the Pune-Nashik highway near Eklahare village veered off the road and fell into a ditch due to locked steering. Fortunately, around 80 passengers, including children are safe. Some passengers suffered minor injuries.
According to the information received, the ST bus traveling from Pune to Lasalgaon was heading towards Nashik from the Pune-Nashik highway. While passing through the village of Eklahare, Driver Rambhau Handge noticed a steering failure. He managed to keep control of the bus and brought it to a stop.
During this time, the ST bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch. However, a major accident was averted as the bus hit a large rock. As a result, around 75 to 80 passengers on the ST bus were saved.
Bus driver Ram Bhau Handge and conductor S.S. Sanap helped the passengers get off the bus and arranged for their further travel to Pune and Kopargaon by other buses. Some passengers suffered minor injuries, such as bruises, but overall, the other passengers are safe.
