Pimpri: Dr. Pandit Nandkishor Kapote, a renowned Kathak dancer and performer; His performance at the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Academy Festival received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
In honor of the anniversary of the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Academy, various cultural programs were organized at the G.D. Madgulkar Theater by the Municipal Corporation. Dr. Pandit Nandkishor Kapote's captivating Kathak dance was presented, leaving the audience spellbound.
His performance showcased the traditional temple dance style and included a presentation of the popular bhajan "Baje Re Murliya Baje" by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. He also performed Pandit Birju Maharaj's Tihai, Tukde, and Paran. Dr. Kapote's jugalbandi with the ghungroo and tabla won the hearts of the audience, and his rendition of Sant Tukaram Maharaj's "Anu Reniya Thokda Tuka Akasha evedha" left a lasting impression. The audience even joined in with the chant "Vithal Vithal" during the performance of the song.
Dr. Pandit Nandkishor Kapote was accompanied on the tabla by Mumbai's famous tabla player Pandit Kalinath Mishra. Pandit Sanjay Garud provided vocals, Azharuddin Sheikh played the flute, Jnanesh Kokate played the pakhawaj, Umesh Purohit played the harmonium, and Pandit Yash Trisharan also performed.
