Mumbai: Ashish Deshmukh, who had previously traveled with Congress, BJP, and again Congress, has now joined BJP again. The party entry was made in the presence of BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bavankule and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Meanwhile, discussions about his BJP entry started when he resigned from Congress. Finally, today (18th), he joined BJP. Deshmukh had previously met with former Union Minister and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari. At that time, he said, "I have not demanded any position. I will work as a worker and fulfill the responsibilities given by the party. My political journey has not been for any particular voter group. I will work for Vidarbha's interests with faith and patience.
Ashish Deshmukh is the son of former Congress state president Ranjit Deshmukh. He had fallen out with Congress in political disputes. Then he joined BJP as an MLA. However, he resigned as an MLA because he was not given a place in BJP. After leaving BJP, he joined Congress again, but he did not get along with anyone. Now he is back on the BJP path.
When Nitin Gadkari was the state president in 2009, I joined BJP. Nitin Gadkari is like a father figure to me. I had come to take his blessings. I was given a ticket from West Nagpur, Deshmukh said.
