Pune: The Minister of Higher Education has announced that new standards will soon be introduced for the 'Earn and Learn' scheme, which will be implemented by various institutions including Yashaswi Skills. Karma Veer Bhaurao Patil has been instrumental in the development of this scheme. Yashaswi will create an ideal model for this scheme and industries will be encouraged to participate in it, according to the state's Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil.

The inauguration of the 'Earn and Learn' scheme, organized by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education and Yashaswi Skills Ltd., was held at Hotel JW Marriott. Minister Patil said that the new academic standards will give importance to vocational education in the new era. Vocational and skill-based education is essential for a useful life. Mother tongue education is also important for understanding the subject and research. The need for research is increasing, and the government is making efforts to promote new academic standards.

The government has decided to establish a Skill Development University. The university will offer job-oriented courses through which students can earn credits. From next year, four credit points will be given for skill development, which will be essential for obtaining a degree. Technical and engineering colleges will hold meetings with industries to make necessary changes in the curriculum.

Former Minister Mr. Tope said that the government has given a broader scope to the 'Earn and Learn' scheme. The number of educated unemployed is increasing, and the significant issue of employment is looming over the education sector. It was necessary to find a solution to these challenges. Skilled human resources can be made available at a lower cost in the competitive industrial world. Therefore, both components can benefit from this scheme.

Dr. Mohitkar said that the implementation of the National Education Policy has begun at the state level. The 'Earn and Learn' scheme was launched for five courses during the initial phase. It has now been extended to 19 courses. The curriculum will be determined according to the standards of teaching in the mother tongue. Students can receive certification for the expected courses while studying. The government is preparing to fill more courses based on the needs of the industry.

Students and industries should take responsibility for this scheme, as they have been called upon to do so. Industries should take care of the progress of these students. Awareness should be raised about this scheme. Good personalities can be developed through this scheme, as well.

Mr. Pawar said that it is necessary to train young people by searching for quality. Such initiatives are necessary to build the capacity of young people to achieve progress of the country. The government and industries need to work together for the progress of society.

Mr. Chandel said that if students are given life skills through education, they can think of good production and become successful in life. This is a good opportunity for industries, and they should cooperate with the government's efforts as a social responsibility.

Dr. Aditya Joshi, an expert in labor laws, also expressed his thoughts on the subject of workers' rights. He mentioned that the government should consider the interests of students while formulating plans.
