Pune: The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and the Yuvak Kranti dal organized a Gandhi Darshan conference on Sunday, June 11, 2023, which received a good response. The conference was held in the auditorium of the Gandhi Bhavan in Kothrud.
Dr. Ram Punyani, Dr. Kumar Saptarshi, and Yuvaraj Mohite guided the attendees.
Dr. Ram Punyani guided Gandhi and communal harmony, while Dr. Kumar Saptarshi spoke about Satyagraha and the legacy and importance of Gandhi and Ambedkar's ideas. Senior journalist Yuvaraj Mohite provided guidance on the subject of Gandhi Darshan. This was the third camp on the subject.
Dr. Kumar Saptarshi introduced Dr. Punyani, and Sandeep Barve proposed the vote of thanks. Jambuvant Manohar honored the speakers. Datta Balsaraf, Dr. Urmila Saptarshi, Anwar Rajan, Vikas Lavande, Sudarshan Chakale, Appa Anarase, Sachin Pandule, and Neelam Pandit were among the many dignitaries present. Newly appointed Congress President MP Supriya Sule, who was present at the conference, was also honored by Dr. Kumar Saptarshi.
Dr. Punyani said that religion never comes under threat, but the dominance of some people in certain religions has led to the creation of new religions to maintain their power and authority. Mahatma Gandhi considered himself a humanist Hindu and believed that moral values are good in all religions. However, some people use religion to spread poison for their selfish interests. A good, strong democracy should not benefit only a few people but should benefit all people, including the marginalized. This is why religious extremism is being created in today's dominant countries, Dr. Punyani said.
They said that due to the belief in fundamentalism and disrespect for other religions, injustice has been done to other religions, which has led to the current situation in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This same situation could happen in India due to fundamentalist religious attacks. Even during India's struggle for independence, the Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League were against Gandhi's fight for freedom. However, Gandhi and Congress aimed to unite all religions and oppose the British to achieve independence. To keep the country's communal harmony alive and awaken society,
The vision of Gandhi is necessary, as expressed by Dr. Saptarshi. He said that two things from the past century are still widely accepted and discussed today: the creation of the atomic bomb and the other is Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi is a symbol of Indian wisdom. If Indian knowledge is kept alive, then the world's wisdom can also be kept alive, and for this reason, Gandhi's thoughts and vision are ideal. This was also expressed by Dr. Saptarshi.
Nationalist Congress Party's newly appointed president, Supriya Sule, received blessings from Dr. Kumar Saptarshi, founder of the Youth Revolution Party and president of the Maharashtra Gandhi Memorial Fund, during the Gandhi Darshan conference. She paid homage to Gandhi's statue at the Gandhi Bhavan.
Datta Balsaraf, Vikas Lavande, Yukrand, and Congress party workers were also present.
