Tripura: During the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Tripura, 6 people died and 15 were seriously injured
On the evening of June 28, a tragic accident occurred during the procession of Lord Jagannath's chariot in Kumarghat, Tripura. The chariot, which was being pulled by hundreds of devotees, accidentally touched a high-voltage power line. As a result, six people lost their lives instantly, and fifteen others sustained severe injuries. Some devotees can be seen in the circulated video footage, engulfed in flames. This unfortunate incident has left approximately 15 devotees critically injured, causing great concern for the rising death toll.
As soon as news of the incident reached the fire brigade and paramedics, they rushed to the scene. The power supply was immediately cut off to prevent further accidents. The injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
