Mumbai: In a meeting of the subcommittee of the Ministry of Industries, the massive projects worth 40,000 crores rupees in Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, Raigad, and Navi Mumbai were approved. This will create approximately 1.2 lakh jobs in the state, as stated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The project includes the production of approximately 12,482 crores worth of electric vehicles and batteries in Pune and Aurangabad. The James and Jewelry Park project in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, has also been granted a mega project status.
Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the fifth meeting of the subcommittee of the Ministry of Industries was held at Sahyadri Guest House. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, and other officials were present.
In Gogoro India Pvt. Ltd., located in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), the production of electric vehicles and batteries, as well as the establishment of swapping station infrastructure, will take place. This is the first project of its kind in the country and has been approved as a mega project. Gogoro plans to establish approximately 12,000 battery-swapping stations across Maharashtra in the near future, which will provide basic infrastructure for electric vehicle usage.
In Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Ether Energy Company has been granted approval for a massive project worth 865 crores for the production of electric vehicles and batteries. Ether Energy is one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers in India, producing advanced and connected electric scooters. This project will help in the establishment of a sustainable ecosystem in the state.
Additionally, Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has been granted approval for a massive project worth 776 crores for the production of the country's first e-buses in Pune. Pinnacle Mobility Solutions, based in Pune, is set to revolutionize the Indian automotive industry with advanced technological advancements in electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle manufacturing. Electric vehicles and other alternative energy vehicles are expected to make the largest contribution to the country's production industry in the coming decade. Pune has the potential to become a hub for electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
In Raigad, the Performance Chemiserve company's project is worth 2,700 crores, the Smartchem Technologies company's project worth 2,033 crores, the General Polyfilms company's project worth 500 crores in Nandurbar, the Vipro Parir Robotics company's project worth 544 crores in Satara, and the Ganraj Ispat company's project worth 110 crores in Ahmednagar have been approved.
The India Gems and Jewelry Park project, established in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, has been recognized as a mega project by the Gems and Jewelry Art Promotion Council (GJEPC). The park, spread over approximately 21 acres, will accommodate 1,354 industrial and commercial establishments.
To develop integrated facilities for the gem and jewelry sector in Maharashtra and provide encouragement for investment, production, employment, trade, and exports, an investment of Rs. 20,000 crores is expected. This project is expected to create approximately 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs. The proposed India Jewelry Park project will further accelerate the growth of global-level gems and jewelry exports and will also contribute significantly to the Lab Grown Diamond industry.
The meeting was attended by Nitin Kareer, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Dr. Harshadeep Kamble, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department, Veerendra Singh, Secretary of the Textile Industry Department, Dr. Vipin Sharma, CEO of the Industrial Development Corporation, and Dipendrasinh Kushwah, Commissioner of Industrial Development.
