Pimpri: A fake Crime Branch Police Officer was arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad Police crime branch Unit 2 successfully.
The accused, an Iranian thief who was arrested is currently under custody. He has been involved in approximately 20 crimes so far.
The name of the Iranian thief is Aabalu Jafar Irani, residing in Shivajinagar, Pune.
Due to the increasing criminal activities in the city, the police officials ordered a special operation to crack down on these cases. On June 29, police received information that the accused was in the Nigdi area, under the guidance of Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam, Deputy Inspector Ganesh Mane, and the officers of Crime Branch Unit 2, who detained him. and was interrogated. At that time, police recovered a total of four fake identity cards and five tolas of stolen gold, worth approximately 4 lakhs, and a high-end sports bike used for committing crimes.
The accused, who confessed to his involvement in the crimes, has committed a total of 20 crimes in Pune, Satara, Nashik, Thane district, Bhiwandi, Khandala, and Boisar.
