Pimpri: A highly educated man working in an IT company set fire to a car and a flat in the parking lot of a society where he resides in Pimple Gurav.
The police have arrested the accused, Nivesh Suresh Kelappan (35 years old, from Pimple Gurav), and a woman has filed a complaint with the police regarding the incident.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning (11th) at the Karan Residency in Pimple Gurav. According to the information provided by the police, the accused went to the society's parking lot and used a lighter to set fire to some clothes, and then the fire spread to a nearby car and a flat in the society.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but some cars and a four-wheeler were damaged in the parking lot. The total loss is estimated to be around 4 lakh 30 thousand rupees.
The police have conducted an investigation into the society, but no evidence of any previous crime has been found against the accused. The police suspect that the accused may have been suffering from some mental disturbance. A case has been registered against him for causing panic in the area, damaging property, and attempting to cause harm to innocent people.
