Mumbai: In Maharashtra, 5,220 megawatts of Energy production will take place; announced Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today
an agreement between Mahanirmiti, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Mahaurja, and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) for energy production with a capacity of 5,220 megawatts. Approximately 41,000 crore in investment and 6,760 job opportunities will be created through this agreement. Fadnavis made this announcement during a meeting at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai, where officials from the energy department, Mahavitaran, Mahaparishan, SJVN, and other related officials were present.
The central and state governments are encouraging renewable energy projects. By 2030, 50% of the installed capacity is expected to be fulfilled through renewable energy sources. To achieve energy stability, it is necessary to increase the use of renewable energy sources such as solar, water, wind, and geothermal projects. Fadnavis has emphasized the importance of this initiative.
Under Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth Rahuri, a 400-acre campus in Rahuri, Ahmednagar district, will develop a 100 MW solar energy project. Additionally, a 500 kW solar energy project will be developed independently by the university to reduce its electricity consumption. The estimated cost of this project is 472.19 crore. Maharaja-Pune (Maharashtra Energy Development Agency In Chalkewadi, a 25.6 MW solar and wind energy project will be developed by the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency, requiring an investment of 518 crores. Under Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited and Mahanirmiti will develop a 5,000 MW renewable energy project. A total investment of 40,000 crore will be made for the development of solar, hydro, wind, and geothermal projects.
